The Faculty of Social Work, Health and Music of Brandenburg University of Technology Cott-bus-Senftenberg (BTU) invites applicants for a
PROFESSORSHIP
MUSIC PEDAGOGY (75 %) (W2)
with an application-oriented focus, commencing at the earliest opportunity.
The professorship will be part of the Department of Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy. The appli-cant is expected to share the artistic-practical approach of the subject and to develop educational-didactic methods for diverse target groups.
Expertise in recent developments in the field of music pedagogy as well as the application of creative and experience-based methods of teaching and learning are assumed. Interconnecting the recent scientific investigations in the fields of today’s requirements in popular and classical teaching approa-ches would be preferable. Commitment to working together with the regional music schools is expec-ted.
Requirements are a completed artistic-pedagogic university education, a relevant PhD and expertise in instrumental didactics.
The application-oriented focus includes 13 compulsory teaching unit hours. The contract will be an open-ended employment contract.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Hig-her Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG. Please refer to §§ 41 paragraph 1, No. 1 – 3 and 4 b and 43 BbgHG for prerequisites and conditions of employment.
Lectures are primarily to be held in German, but also partly in English. Therefore German language skills as native speaker (or acc. to DSH3 or equivalent) and fluency in English is expected. Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected.
