The department is technically assigned to the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

In research, the professorship is dedicated to electronic systems and sensor technology. It thus forms a link between BTU's scientific research in the field of microelectronics and applicationrelated issues that drive the transfer of scientific findings to industrial applications. In addition to the respective professorships, microelectronics topics are also dealt with at BTU in joint labs with the Leibniz Institutes FBH and IHP and the Fraunhofer Institutes IZM and IPMS. The thematic orientation of the professorship is intended to be particularly well suited to this research environment in the field of micro electroncis and microwave electronics and to expand the BTU's research competence to include the field of electronic systems and sen- sor technology, thus creating synergies.

The BTU is looking for an internationally renowned personality who is highly committed to representing the field of Electronic Systems and Sensor Technology in research and teaching.

After several years of scientific activity, the future position holder should have excellent national and international networks, have performed management tasks in research and development and have gained experience in the acquisition of third-party funds and in the implementation of third-party funded projects.

The teaching responsibilities include lectures, exercises and practical training in the bachelor's and master's programs for students of electrical engineering, information and media technology, mechanical engineering and industrial engineering. Methodical and didactic skills in the field as well as the willingness to offer courses also in English and in application-oriented courses are required.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG. Prerequisites and conditions of employment follow §§ 41 paragraph 1 (no. 1 - 4a) and 43 of the BbgHG. Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or similar international research funding organizations. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
